The island Koh Chang is a tropical national marine park. With over 70% of untouched rainforest it maybe the best kept tourist destination in Thailand. It’s Thailand’s second biggest island. There are many hills and mountains all over the island, so there are only houses, resorts and shops along the road that goes all the way around the island.

Koh chang is in the province Trat, that’s near the border to Cambodia. Bangkok airways have an airport; 15 minutes from were the ferries leaves to Koh chang every day. There will be 3 flights every day at a price between 2300,- and 4500,- baht. There are also busses and minibuses leaving from Bangkok to Koh chang every day, Fx. From ekemai-busstation, the trip takes about 5 hours.

The whole island is right now grooving in to a tourist area, with hotels, bars, restaurants, 7 elevens and much more. .

 

 Transport: (From Bangkok to Koh chang)

 

When you get to Bangkok you maybe tired and exhausted after the long flight, and most people want to spend the first night on a hotel in Bangkok. Finding a place shouldn’t be a problem and finding a place that fits you should also be easy. (Travel guides can be helpful).

From Bangkok to Koh chang there should be about 350 km. there’s different ways to go, you can go by plane to Trat airport, or by bus directly to the ferry. In Bangkok and all over Thailand there’s small tourist offices where you can book flights and bus-tickets to Koh chang.

When you arrive to Koh chang, there are taxies everywhere waiting, You tell the driver to take you to lonely beach (Bai lan), and that you want to get of at the 7-day minimart. At the opposite site of the street on your left hand you’ll se the Lonely beach resort resort sign.

It’s also possible to make special arrangements with Lonely beach resort,- To get picked up at the airport or at the ferry.
